    Is The Bryant And Mcallister Surnames Of Jewish Decent?

    In doing genealogy research I find many Jewish name in my family tree. I am wanting to know if I happen to be of Jewish decent?

    McAllister is a surname that has originated from Scotland and Northern Ireland. They are not from Jewish desent. They belonged to the Mac Donalds clan of Scotland. The name is derived from the name Alexander. Whereas the name Bryant is also not of Jewish Desent. It is also a scottish surname which is derived from the name Brian that means Dignity and Honor.
