    It enabled more or less instant communication between places that were very distant from one another, and without telephone lines, there would be no internet so I would be unable to see or answer your question !

      Created worldwide communication, so other countries are able to talk and share ideas.
      Saved millions of people's lives.
      The phone provides the subtle sound cues of "normal" speech that convey a fuller meaning than just written or tested communication.
