How Much Does Da Vinci's The Last Supper Cost?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Even though the Da Vinci is considered one of the most valuable works of art it has never been quantified in terms of monetary value. The reason for this has been that the painting is unable or extremely difficult to be moved. It has never been bought or sold.

The painting is a mural that was created by the genius Leonardo da Vinci in the fifteenth century. It adorns a wall of the refectory within the convent the convent of the Santa Maria delle Grazie. It has undergone extensive repair work as the material that was originally used to make it was not meant to last through the ages. It has survived two improper repair works early in life, bombings, pollution and time. If it were possible to sell the work it is possible that it could have fetched as much as Pablo Picasso's "Garcon a la pipe" that sold for fifty two million pounds or Sir Peter Paul Rubens "Massacre of the Innocents" that fetched forty five million pounds.
