You really should see a doctor about this, as although it is probably nothing serious, the sooner you get it sorted the better. Even if it is something very minor, you should still get it treated as if you let these things go on and on, they become serious eventually.

I too was into smoking and drinking large amounts of alcohol. 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with stage three esophageal cancer which also involved 1/3 of my stomach. Was told I had a ten percent chance of surviving five years. Doc said it was probably caused by smoking and drinking. A very effective way to quit smoking and drinking cold turkey but would not wish it on my worst enemy. See a doctor ASAP. I put up with the symptoms for three months before seeking medical help. BIG MISTAKE!

I would say that this is a huge contributor to your problem. I used to get laryngitis all the time from smoking. Alcohol after a time eats at the lining of the throat, and the stomach. I would imagine that you are also suffering from heartburn too? Time to either quit, or at least cut back on it, and see how you feel then. Hope this helps, good luck.

If you have some allergies, such as the dust allergy, it is likely you are allergic to smoke too.  Your body is telling you something and you'd better listen.  Get to a doctor right away and lay off the smoking and drinking.  If you think it's hard now, you've no idea how hard it is in your 60s - should you live that long!  It's no joke kiddo.  Good luck to you.  And thankfully there are some wonderful quit smoking aids nowadays.  I used the patch, my oldest quit cold turkey and my youngest and my daughter used that pill they have now.  We've all quit in the last 2 years, thank God.
