Here we go again, refering to the government as a third party. Every american citizen is the government. We put those people into power to handle our affairs. Anyway, sorry to get off the subject. I do believe that children should be immunized early and throughout their lives because it keeps us healthy. America is a melting pot and people of this country are subjected to all kinds of disease from outsiders coming in legally and illegally. I live in the northeast, when i moved to Fla my children were forced to get all their shots again even though they were up to date before they could attend school. We didn't leave the country just move to another state. The risk of getting sick is greater in Fla because most of the immigrants come from countries of poverty and no health care so we have to protect ourselves. I also believe that most doctors don't know there ass from their elbow and because of their incompetence people get sick and die from their mistakes.

It is mandatory for them to get into school, and I like that idea, and children are notorious for spreading germs. There have been several instances of late where some of the old diseases are coming back because parents aren't immunizing their children in time. I personally think that if a child is denied the medicine by the parent then the parent should be fined, or charged with neglect. But that is another story.

IT depends on the child and there should be some way to identify the children that can not take all the shocks children have gotten sick behind some of the shots it is not known if the child is allergic to something used to make the medicine or not and it is a shame the ingredients were not told to the parents nor are children tested for allergies prior to getting the shots, just as all people can not take that Flu shot because they use eggs in some form to make it and we have people that are allergic and get seriously ill from the shot....peace Hope this shines some light on the subject...Peace

I believe that only the most immediate need shots should be given to infants and that waiting until the child is better able to handle the effects of other shots, is the most beneficial all the way around. I'm not saying "no" don't give them, but allowing a child to gain more strength and awareness is more beneficial in the long run. Please remember that this is only my opinion.

It is mandatory if they go to public school or in public daycare.  I opted to stay home and wait until mine were big enough to handle the dosing.  It is the same regardless of weight and geez.......read the fine print.  This is why so many doctors refuse to give them and it's left to the health department.

Here in the uk a lot of parents declined jabs for their children three or four years back.  Now we are seeing a steep rise in some of the old diseases, like whooping cough, and measles and chicken pox which is very disturbing.  This is a very emotive question for parents to have to deal with, I feel for everyone with young children.
