What Does Barnies (or Maybe Basnies) Obtenta Mean In English?
This Latin phrase is on my grandparents marriage certificate and I would like to know what it means.

Not sure about barnies or basnies but I think "obtenta" might be "obtained". Maybe some one else can help with the barnies. Was this a church or generic legal certificate? Latin legalese is a little different than church Latin. I am wondering if basnies might be some form of basilica? A church or legal building. The rough translation might then be "church obtanied" or "court obtained".
