Danielle Steel is among the best selling authors in United States and around the world. She was born as Danielle Fernande Dominique Schuelein-Steel. She was born in the city of San Francisco in the state of California in United States on august 14th 1947. She has published several books in her long career and has sold an estimated 530 million copies of her books.

Several of her books have been adapted to make television programs and series. She is known among the best in books of drama and romance. Her first novel was titled as Going Home. It was released in 1973. Many of the topics in her books dealt with family issues and the impact of our actions on our present or future. She derived inspiration for her books and novels from personal experiences. Apart from novels she has also dabbled in non-fiction and children's books.
