If You Could Leave A Message To Humanity, What Would It Be?

Do you have a message for the world?

    Try to learn very early on that compassion for others, regardless of their situation or stature in life, is a big key in your own happiness.  Not to judge people based on appearance or intellect.  By doing so, you lose the opportunity to meet some very interesting people that have a lot to give, not to mention some wonderful friendships.  Stand up for your principles and morals when they are challenged.  Nothing is worse then the taste of regret for not having done so.

        I would probably leave a message to humanity saying, "The end is near, repent and trust God and thy sins will be forgiven!"

        I wish I could teach my workaholic to do that, I call him 'recreationally challenged. Everything is like a forced march through hostile enemy territory.

        Aww, sad. What's life for if not for enjoying? Why do we work? not to survive, to LIVE! I can be a workaholic when I get to doing something I like or want to accomplish but sometimes you have to put it all down and enjoy your surroundings, take a deep breath and remember to smile. I wish I could give you a hug :)

          Peace! I end every conversation with it because I believe the only way to have peace is through loving each other.

          It is certainly not my own work, but have always thought it was probably the most profound work of that sort that I ever read, so I will pass it along to ya.

          Desiderata

          Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
          and remember what peace there may be in silence.
          As far as possible without surrender
          be on good terms with all persons.
          Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
          and listen to others,
          even the dull and the ignorant;
          they too have their story.

          Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
          they are vexations to the spirit.
          If you compare yourself with others,
          you may become vain and bitter;
          for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
          Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

          Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
          it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
          Exercise caution in your business affairs;
          for the world is full of trickery.
          But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
          many persons strive for high ideals;
          and everywhere life is full of heroism.

          Be yourself.
          Especially, do not feign affection.
          Neither be cynical about love;
          for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
          it is as perennial as the grass.

          Take kindly the counsel of the years,
          gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
          Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
          But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
          Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
          Beyond a wholesome discipline,
          be gentle with yourself.

          You are a child of the universe,
          no less than the trees and the stars;
          you have a right to be here.
          And whether or not it is clear to you,
          no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

          Therefore be at peace with God,
          whatever you conceive Him to be,
          and whatever your labors and aspirations,
          in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

          With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
          it is still a beautiful world.
          Be cheerful.
          Strive to be happy.

          Would have liked to give ya a more original answer... but I have always been amazed at the wisdom of the person who wrote this, and nothing I could say could put it all better. As you said, it pretty much says it all.

          Dedicate your life's work to something important to you, and to
          others.  I try and follow leaders I admire.

          For example, a friend of mine, Richard Rosenblatt, started a company that takes social networking to a hole new level and in doing so, is helping countless people connect with others who share the same goals.

          I don't how exactly how I would word this, but for now the only way I can say it is "Death to Prejudice" I think that would make a great dent in the barriers that stop people from loving and being kind to one another. Just my humble opinion though.
