How Do I Get Rid Of Acne Once It Turns Into A Scab?
Scabs can look unsightly especially if you have a big night planned. Here are some tips of how to get rid of acne once it has turned into a scab.
First off, make sure the scab is completely dry and dab it if necessary. Once dry put moisturising lotion on it and wrap plastic around it over night. In the morning the scab should have disappeared. If it hasn’t, repeat the process.
With scabs on your face, here are a few more tips. Keep them clean; cleanse the area daily with some kind of anti bacterial soap. Check the affected area for infection (unlikely to occur from acne). Give the body lots of time to heal, it could take a long time for a scab to completely go away but keep checking for signs of healing. When a scab looks healed it is often safe to scratch or rub it off.
Make sure you do not pick a scab before it is ready to go and don’t use makeup to hide any scabs on your face left by acne. This stops them healing. Try not to wipe your face after washing it, instead pat it dry with a towel (doing this stops the skin from splitting).
If you are having recurrent problems with spots it might be a good idea to speak to a dermatologist as they can give you expert advice and provide medication or chemical peels if necessary.

Using sudocreme is good.... But your skin can become immune to the effects...i am 16 n a model, you are told NOT to pick spots and wash your face with un-perfumed soap and half a teaspoon of salt..it really works..DO NOT use toothpaste it just makes it worse!

Hiya Hun, i had a spot on my face by my chin for about 3 weeks and it just wouldnt go away! I got so annoyed at it that i just picked @ it and it became a scab! 3 weeks later the scab had still not gone! I tried toothpaste and tht was the worst mistake as it made it go dry and wrinkly and made it look even worse! I eventually put antiseptic cream on it every morning and before i went to bed i used sudocream! It reduced the scab overnight and it had completely gone in 5 days of putting sudocream on it! Take this advice and DO NOT use tooth paste otherwise you look like a 90 yrs old! Lol! Good luck! Xxx

NO! don't use toothpaste because it dries your skin out and makes your face peel at pints like on your nose chin and forehead and you get red patches too .. Use sudocreme lol it says on the tub sutible for acne too, im 15 so prone to teen-zone spots but i put sudocreme on my face everynight before i go to bed and underneath any make-up i wear (its a good base) and i rarely get any spots.. If i do they're gone the next day... So i would give that a shot if i were you, as it will heal your spots overnight and fade the scab making you less likely to pick them too!

Well I am with you on that becasue I have three scabs between my eyebrows and one my forehead! I am never going to pop my pimples again! It just makes the blemish bigger. And don't worry about those people who make fun of you becasue everyone gets pimples and they will too, and then they will see what it is like. You aren't the only one! :)

Hey everyone,
I havent had really bad skin for a while but when i was a teenager i had it really bad, particularly awful large red under the skin ones which you wouldnt pick but refused to go away for weeks, i get them in the same spots constantly even now. The thing that worked for me and which took me ages to actually do because i was embarassed about it is go to your doctor. Mine was great and specialised in dermatology so was really helpful, she also properly acknowledged how upsetting it can be to have spots. I felt so pathetic but they ruined my confidence and i would bunk off school so that i wouldnt be seen even though in comparison to some people they werent that bad. They will be able to analyse your skin seriously to see what is wrong, my skin was so dry that when i put things like clearasil on it just aggravated it and made it red and sore and so much worse so i was given anti biotics that cleared it up really quickly! They will try you on different forms of medication but it does work, things that are over the counter at the pharmacist wont help because they are so abrasive. Now i just wash my face with water and use e45 moisturiser and thats it, if i get a spot i try my hardest not to pick it and i just put a spot cream on it like tee tree. If you do pick it and it turns into a scab the best things to do is to let it dry and wash your face around it, really try not to put makeup on as the grease makes it dirty and more likely to inflame and remain as a spot underneath. Keep the scab clean and put small amounts of sudocream on it at morning and night but otherwise let it dry and dont pick it AT ALL, all you will do is prolong the time it takes to heal and be left with red skin underneath, itll seem great in comparison to the scab but two weeks later when your left with red scarring you will wish you had just waited the extra few days for the healthy skin to be fully formed.
Good luck! Seriously see your doctor best thing i ever did and now i wake up in the morning happy that my skin is clear and no longer a problem!

Hi! Im 11 years old getting pre-teen acne and it sucks cuz i have huge blemishes and u just wanna pick at them but never ever ever pick at them. Ive tried an acne cream called terminator 10 on the scabs with no luck and i was so desperate i even tried my eczema cream, cortizone 10 on them put it did nothing but turn my unscabbed pimples into blackheads. Wash your face daily with soap and if u have bangs make sure there clean cuz oily bangs can cause forehead acne. B4 u go to bed every nite put sudocreme on ur scabs and never ever ever ever ever use toothpaste cuz it would be like slitting ur wrists in a shark tank- the smell of blood would cause a frenzy! And remember: Never ever ever ever ever ever pick at them! Ever!

I've learned that Vaseline works really well on scabby pimples. Its made to moisturize dry skin but at the same time to heal cuts, scrapes, and scabs. Just wash your face twice a day, apply oil free moisturizer, then put a dab of vaseline on your scabbed over pimple. It works really good if done before bed.

I have the same problems except on my forehead. I get a lot of acne there, but its not the little white heads. Most of the time, my zits swell up into enormous ones and they hurt too. Once i pop them they turn into big scabs and I have one right now. I haven't picked it yet, but i really don't want it to look like this in public. I don't know where they come from but i need to find a remedy to fix them. Does anyone have any suggestions for bigger, swollen pimples that could be found at home or bought in a store?

This sounds stupid but it really works for scabby spots.
I recently picked a spot a it scabbed over right in the middle of my chin, however I started applying lavender+tea tree oil onto it, then followed by covering it with a small amount of cold sore cream. Apply it during the day and overnight and your scab should be gone in about 2 days :)
x (p.s I'm 15, it happens a lot to me and this always works!)

Buy a spot treatment stick from asda or your nearest shop! I tried that and the next week, once my spots had healed, the boy I had a crush on asked me out!!!!

The best thing I can say is to wait and if you're anything like me, that sucks, right? I hate waiting, especially when it has to do with waiting for gross scabbely things to get off of my face. But here's a tip: Yep, everybody at the lunch table is looking at your gross ugly scab. Don't try to hide it. The best thing you can do is not care. That's what i do. I just dont worry about it. Eventually it will go away. Usually around four days or so. And trust me there will be a time after it. The worst that could happen is a conversation with some people about it, right? Just tell yourself "who cares? If they wanna worry about it, they obviously have no life" and believe me, I'm not some snobby chica saying this i actually am going through a gross scab myself (ugh shiver) i just try to ignore people, because (you'll love this part) one day, the people staring at your gross ugly scab will HAVE gross ugly scabs of their own, and that will be yours to cherish :) With this in mind, have fun, live laugh and worry not about a blemish on your face :D

I found that the best way to get rid of a scab is to use sudocream. It works a charm! I have a big scab on my nose that i seem to get every winter everyone at school can see it and it is quite embarrasing so every year when i get it i put sudocream on it within 2 days its gone.
Hope this helps! X

Hi. I'm 11 and I have pimples on my nose. The other day I washed my face and used some toner but I washed my nose really hard to get the dirt and puss out of my pimples and now they are scabby and yuck! I was picking and squeezing my pimples to open up my pores and clean out but it just made them worse! My nose looks disgusting and I don't want anyone to see it. Hopefully by time your pimples will clear up! Don't worry your not alone!

This will solve a scab every time: Steam your pores by standing over a teapot of boiling water. Don't burn your skin but make sure you sweat as much as possible. The scab will sweat off. Follow the steaming by applying a washcloth of hot water to the scab and then cover the spot with vitamin e. Good luck!

If you wash your face with clearskin by avon this will help all of your issues. Before you go to bed you need to wash your face with clearskin and warm water. After you do this you need to wash the scabs with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide. When you wake up in the morning it is going to look like you can pull the scab off do not do that what ever you do (it will leave a huge scar thrust me i found out the hard way). Apply a small amount of poly sporran to the scabs and only the scabs if you apply it anywhere else you will have a bigger problem then you started out with.
Hope it works for you

I have these pimple scabs on my four head and I don't have any sudocream or anything like that. I was really upset so I went through all my mother's make-up and cream things and I found this cream. It's not sudopcream, but it says it's for dry skin. I thought that maybe it would work for my pimple scabs sinse they were dry skin after all. I put it on the scab and I think it's working! :D
If you don't have sudocream or anything like that in your house try to find dry skin creams like what I did.

All you really need to do is wash your face with a cleanser every night before you go to bed, rub hydrogen peroxide ( this will tingle and turn the effected area white) on it, and then apply neosporin, i find it to work very well, it is gone within a week or two :)

Tooth paste is great.. Use it every time. Dries it out.. Then after you have left it on for as ever long as you want... Try some sudocreme, if you dont have that use antiseptic creme to heal the scab faster!

I believe the best way is to just leave it be.If you need it to go a way quickly a bit of vitamin E oil will help speed up the healing process.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of acne on the nose?!?!?!?....and does drinking a lot of water help?!?!?!?!!?

If the pimple has already scabbed over if you picked it you just need to wait for it to heal. You really are not supposed to pick acne because it causes scarring and pushes the pus further down into thee pore and it takes longer to heal. If you want the swelling of a pimple to go down try putting some toothpaste on it and leave it on for awhile and then take it off. It actually does make the swelling go down i have tried it before.
