You haven't described what the child swallowed, but in any case, anything that a child swallows, is potentially lethal to them.

If it isn't juice, water, milk, or other safe liquids to take in, then you should take the child to the doctor to make sure.

Also, if you don't, charges of neglect could be pressed if the child should die as a direct result of whatever it has taken, intentionally, or accidentally. Get him/her to the doctor now. Hope this helps.

In case the 2 year old swallowed some, just say, cleaning products, that are pretty lethal, it actually burns on the way down so you must not make the 2 year old throw it all back out - it'll just burn on the way back up. Instead make the child drink milk, as it will soothe the pain. Then seek professional help.
