My cat will hide under the bed all day from the new dog but yet are first dog he doesn't mind at all. The dog will stare and growl at him but wont attack him. I need to get them so they can be together with my cat being comfortable.

Well it's very natural phenomena that cats are scared of dogs.Its kind of dog phobia for them.But you can put some efforts to make them feel comfortable with eachother.Try to feed them at similar place i mean in similar room and take them together on walk.It will really help you out i had a dog who used to eat his food with cats believe me and i did the same to make feel them comfortable with each other.

Keep your dog in one or two rooms then slowly over a week give it more rooms. That works or just let your cat get use to it by itself.
