    I think you meant "dollar cost averaging." If so, that phrase refers to buying the same stock on regular intervals regardless of the price. The idea is that if the stock is losing its value, with the same amount of investment, you can buy more of that stock at lower price and when and if that stock go back to the same price you started, you would have made money.
