Some of the ways I deal with stress is to take time out for me and just me.. I find it works when you can take a walk or if you are in the car driving sing out loud... My family puts the stress on me.. So I tell them it is my day and I turn off all phones. If I did not do any of these things, I would have a nervous break down.. I know with everyone it is different, But I thought I would share with you some of the things I do and it really works.....Also If your stress is really bad, talking to someone helps too.. I feel better when it is someone I can trust . I even tried Meds from my Doctor and found out it made things worse., But like I said before all people are different and maybe Meds would work for you... I really hope something I said helps you and good luck....

Yes ,When stressed up I just take some good sleep without any interaction until I relax. This is the best way to cope with stress from the work place.

I think the best way to deal with stress is take some time to cool down and think about what you're really stressed about. Talk to someone, weather it be a family member, friend, co worker, just to get it off your chest! Then deal with the problem stress free, because you can say or do things that you don't mean to say or do while you're stressed! I always like to go shopping and think of solutions. Then deal with the problem.

I work in a stressful environment and I'm raising two teens on my own. I deal with stress in many different ways. I will either take time for myself, or do "no-brainer" games on the net, reading, cleaning or walking.

I agree with most of the answers provided here. Dealing with stress depends on where you are (i.e. Work, driving, etc). But if you can find a quiet place to relax, use your imagination to picture in your mind the muscles and even tendons relaxing starting with your feet and moving up. Paying close attention to your tummy as it seems to hold more stress and returns much faster to a state of tension than most other places. If you can really picture the tightness of your muscles like broken rubber bands, no longer tense, you'll see a difference in your stressful life. It might take practice but you should see a difference right away.

When I am stressed I either go for a long walk alone or meet a friend for coffee. But I also am a SAHM, and usually my family is the cause of my stress...so anytime away, where I am not mommy for a little bit, is a great stress reliever for me. But the answer is very individual, find what makes you happy and works for you.

I'm one of those lucky pple who is permanently stressed. Stress is very bad for your body. Brings your immune system down, makes you exhausted and sometimes can cause illnesses and depression.
Find something that you enjoy doing - ex Yoga/ riding a bike / painting.
Switch your cellphone off for an hour, lie on your bed listening to music / watch movies.
Distract yourself from everyday life. Do something different - can be very relaxing and it will also stimulate your brain.
Dnt drink alcohol to get rid of stress! :) it doesnt work.

I deal with stress on a daily basis. The only thing that gets me through is to read my bible or pray. Give it a try!

This is a very individualized solution. Taking a 'time out' for yourself is good but not if you dwell on your stresses while alone. I find that a hobby is very helpful at times. Reading, writing or even coloring in your child's coloring book can often relieve stress. Walking is always a good stress reliever but it is best to concentrate on what is going on around you and not your worries. (nature parks are great for this) Sitting and watching a fish aquarium is another stress reliever.(another hobby) That is why you see them on so many doctor's offices these days.

The most common way to distress one's self is to go out for a soothing and a serene evening walk everyday. It would be an additional point if the walk is done within a refreshing and a restorative environment such as parks etc. Other than that, going for a relaxing massage is another way to calm down.

I agree with the massage comment, that is the best stress reliever for me, unfortunately its not always easy or convenient to go get a massage whenever you are stressed. The other thing I really like to relieve stress is to take a sauna, something that can be done relatively easy and very cost efficient in your own home. I have one of those portable infrared saunas like you see on the internet. I bought mine at www.promolife.com/1-person-portable-infrared-sauna/prod_346.html
Just hop in and relax, you can also read or watch TV if you like!

Several things work for me depending on my stress level: Listening to my favorite music, exercising, talking to a friend, and especially praying and praying and praying...

I listen to soft music before going to bed. After work I try to walk then take a warm bath before going to bed.

There are so many things you can do when you are stressed or preventing stress. Depending on the stress level: Volunteer and help out someone or somewhere; you could take a hot bath, read a book, listen to soothing music, take a walk, go for a swim, relax in a quiet spot, work-out, go for a run, watch a good movie, catch up on my pile of magazines to read, get a massage, get a manicure/pedicure, hit the sauna/spa, go to your favorite museum, library, nature trail; go to the movies by yourself, get a facial. My list is quite extensive -- I still have a lot more.

The best way to cure stress is as follows. Go into a closed room where you may be alone. Close your eyes and let no sound bother you. Once your eyes closed and you are alone lift your head towards the ceiling with your eyes remaining closed. Then raise both your arms in the air and stretch out your fingers. Stretch and release, bring your arms back to your side lay on a bed and put yourself in a ball as a child would. Kiss yourself on your arms and hands and try to hug yourself, love yourself and all that you do. Forget about society, forget of what they think that they know, forget about rules and laws, forget about stress and anxiety. Once all is forgotten start over, with love.

Sometimes the best ways to relive stress and depression is to find a place where no-one can hear you and let it all out...whether you want to scream out as loud as you can or you need to cry and don't want anyone to see you...
Sometimes stress can be avoided when you do ALL today and stop delaying the things that need to be done. Those things that are causing you stress. And once you've accomplished these things, you should start ending all these situations that are bringing stress into your life.
