Not really, washing your hair does makes the twists droop, so its best to keep them dry. Light oiling of the scalp does give them a fluffier or fuller look so try that instead.

When i had kinky twists last year, i washed them every week and applied a spray leave in conditioner, followed by an application of Shea butter to my scalp. No problems, the twist looked great for 3 months.
