Why Is It Important To Give Others The Chance To Put Their Opions Forward?

If you listen to the opinions that others put forth it is entirely possible that you will come to realize that what they have to say on the subject is very important and possibly more correct than your own thought on the matter.  The key is to listen with an open mind.  Even if you do not agree with what they say/think,  it gives them a feeling of importance that you want their input.  Making others feel important and respected is a certain way to gain their support when your own views are put forth.  Being rude and refusing to listen to someone else's idea never gain you a thing.  Vittori Alfieri said, "It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it."  You are under no obligation to accept an other's opinion but it is possible that you will find their input invaluable - or not.
