My 12 Mo. Old Grand Daughter Is Now Eating Regular Table Food. If We Cook A Meal Of Chicken And Veg. How Long Will Left Overs Keep In The Fridge? I'm Concerned About Possible Food Poisoning.

Where can I find information on how to correctly prepare, cook and store food for babies in order to avoid food poisoning.

Hi, I have two boys and what I did for them is the following. Freeze extra made food. You can use an ice tray for measured serving size. And an important rule is once a spoon comes in contact with child's saliva and the plate of food it is being served from unwanted food from the plate should be thrown away not stored. Also applies to baby food in glass/containers, any left over should be thrown out since her/his saliva would have already contaminated the food. Also do not reheat food more than once. Hope this is helpful.

I can only say DITTO for the above answer! Used to freeze for my kids too. One more thing, no or very little salt. Not good for babies or toddlers.

You need to be very careful when it comes to preparation of food for babies. It is advisable that you use freshly cooked food on every meal time. However, sometimes it is just not possible. Here is a link that will help you in preparation and proper storage of food for babies.
