How Do You Use Limewire?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Limewire is a person-to-person form of software.  It is used by individuals who are connected to each other through the internet.

Individuals share files from their computers, with each other, with fellow members of the Limewire network.  The files can be pictures, music, videos, or even software programs (executable .exe files).  Every download comes with a warning if the file is considered risky or "corrupt."

Download time is fairly slow, since the free version only connects you to a limited network.  So, for example, if you want to download "Cryin" by Aerosmith, you may only have one source on the entire network that has that song.  And that individual may have a slow internet connection.   So download time for that song would be extremely slow.

However, if you choose to download a file that is on hundreds of user computers, Limewire automatically starts downloading that file from as many individual computers as possible simultaneously.  So this would be a very fast download.

    To be continued...

I believe limewire is illegal, in my town, people who use it get a thousand dollar fine for just one song! it is illegal because the artists of the songs are getting no profit for their music.
