Will A New Birth Certificate Be Issued To Larry Birkhead Listed As A Biological Father?

Whether or not he gets his name on the birth certificate, he is very likely to get at least shared custody.

As to the birth certificate itself, it comes down to the legality of the existing birth certificate, and the local laws governing where it was issued (Bahamas). Birkhead is now acknowledged as the true father of the baby (read more background), and the man who currently has custody of the baby (Howard Stern) has said that he will no longer fight Birkhead for custody. Moreover, supposedly an attorney signed the birth certificate on behalf of Stern (Stern is an attorney himself, why didn't he see to such an important matter himself, you wonder??). And that alone may render that birth certificate invalid.

Regardless of what the historical document (the birth certificate said). The courts will tend to custody on the basis of evidence of parentage (DNA test proving Birkhead is the father. Plus, there's no disputing that Virgie Arther is Anna Nicole Smith's mother. So it will come down to those two hashing out a custody arrangement.

It would be nice if just one person in this story seemed to truly have the baby's best interests at heart.
