The Senate in the state of Florida in the United States of America defeated the senate bill which is called SJR 2170. The senate bill which was called SJR 2170 was sponsored by Senator Daniel Webster. If the senate bill which was called SJR 2170 was still in existence, it would have put a constitutional amendment on the ballot which was cast in the month of November 2006.
The purpose of this ballot was to legalise a program which brought school vouchers into existence. This program was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the state of Florida in the United States of America.
It proved to be an embarrassing defeat for Jeb Bush, the governor of the state of Florida in the United States of America, and Senator Alex Villalobos was ousted from his position as the leader of the majority in the GOP for voting against the measure.
