How Do I Create A Terrarium?

A terrarium is basically a small garden in a jar. Some of the best use materials are Cactus, blooming plants, tropical or a mix of colorful foliage plants.
To start with select a nice glass container. Some of the advisable ones are large jars, compotes or aquariums.  Next, lay down a sheet of moss on the surface of the container. In case you have chosen a narrow neck then simply slide down the sheets with a funnel. Then with the help of a chopstick tamp moss properly. Subsequently, layer the big pea gravel over the moss. Once you are done with this put in some fresh soil. Use a sterilized soil mix, which comprises of potting soil, peat moss, sand and perlite. Now put in plants by selecting plants that require the same atmosphere as well growing requirements. Now place the plants in the jar. Position them well you can do this with the help of a chopstick. Once you are done with positioning them water the plants. Next, complete the final step by simply covering the jar with a glass lid. Voila, you have your miniature forest ready!

First, you get a glass tank from the store and then you decorate with suitable plants and other stuff for your animal.

The type of terrarium would depend on the type of plants that are going to be housed in it. The plants could be tropical, hilly, desert, mediterannean, exotic etc, the size and scale of the terrarium would depend on the type of plant. Will there be any animals or birds?

A miniature terrarium would require a glass container. Cover its surface with a couple of inches of gravel. Fill up to half the container with the soil of choice. Plant a few plants in the soil. Ensure these are not parasite plants that will suck the moisture of each other. Spray water on the plants. If you want to decorate the terrarium then use natural elements like grass or stone. Do not use plastic or any synthetic material.

A healthy plant will breathe; this will manifest itself as water droplets on the terrarium glass. Use a glass top to cover the terrarium. Do not keep it in direct sunlight and do not over water the plants.
