I would not take any medicine at all unless the doctor prescribes it during pregnancy. While you most likely are not up to any vigorous exercise, walking a lot can help you with this. Moderate exercise is great for high blood pressure.
Try to avoid any unusually stressful situations. Most problems seem much bigger than they are, and most can wait until later.
Avoid salty foods. Things like crackers and chips and bacon and anything high in salt will make your blood pressure go up, and cause you to retain fluids.
Finally rest often. This is something that is good for all of us and most of us do not do.

Definitely avoid the salty foods as evanjames has stated. But also stay from foods high in sodium that we sometimes forget about. Avoid canned foods as they usually have a high amount of sodium. Eating fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water should keep your blood pressure down along with the light exercise mentioned.
