Where Can I Go To See The Works Of Picasso?

Answer Question

Most modern art museums will contain a painting by Picasso as he was such a revolutionary and inspiring artist. However, to get a true feel for his work visit one of the museums dedicated solely to his work. There are five to choose from, and they all have special features to offer.

The original museum dedicated to the artist Picasso is in Antibes, France. The collection of ceramics, etchings and paintings is housed in a former residence of Picasso's, and so visitors can get a real sense of his presence.

The Picasso museum in the centre of Malaga houses frequently changing special collections and again holds a varied permanent collection. The building itself is beautiful, and visitors can learn about the history of the palace at the same time.

The Berggruen collection in Berlin also charts the life and times of Picasso, including a series of photographs of the artist. The Picasso museum in the Marais district of Paris is complemented by Picasso's own favourite paintings by artists including Degas, Seurat and Matisse.

Their Barcelona counterpart houses one of the largest collections, concerned mainly with his early works, which are housed in five adjoining palaces. It also gives a fantastic cultural background with its depiction of Picasso's life in Barcelona.
