Answer Question

5 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The American Supreme Court has nine judges- the Chief Justice of the USA along with eight Associate Justices. These judges are appointed with the 'advice and consent' of the senate by the President of the United States of America. They are appointed for life and can be removed only through resignation and in rare cases by impeachment and then conviction. The Present Chief Justice is John Roberts and the Associate Judges include Samuel Alito, Stephen Bryer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Clarence Thomas, David Souter, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and John Paul Stevens.

In the Republic of Ireland the Supreme Court is the highest court in the land. It has a total of 8 judges -one Chief Justice and seven other judges.
