Whenever the magnetic flux passing through the surface of a conductor changes, there will be a magnetic field which would cause the induction of an electrical current. This is true fore closed circuits. This electromagnetic induction can occur in both cases, that is, if the strength of the electromagnetic field changes or if the conductor is moved through this field.
