How Can I Remove Blood Stains From Clothes?

Answer Question

5 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Clean it right away. If it sets over night you may not get them out. Pre Treat the stain with Shout wait a few minutes then wash the stain by hand with Biz and and your normal detergent and COLD water. Warm or hot water will set blood stains. If the fabric is bleach safe use the Clorox Bleach Pen and apply directly to the Blood stain then wash normally with COLD water

If you get it while it is still fresh, hydrogen peroxide works very well.

If its your blood, and you get to it fairly soon - spit on it. The enzymes in your saliva break down the proteins in the blood so when you come to wash it the stain wont be as bad, and the detergent should get the rest out. Not sure how well it works with other people's blood/spit, but I guess the principle is the same.

Before washing in machine, pour a little tad of pure hydrogen peroxide , it will begin to bubble up then blot with dry cloth.
