    I live in Michigan and here are some examples of income that are exempt from garnishment: You may want to go to your states legal page and look under garnishments.  Many states have forms that get filed with the courts that explain in greater detail what types of income are exempt.  Contact your lawyer or legal aid agency for further assistance.

    Supplemental Security Income Benefits
    • Aid to Families with Dependent Children
