Polaroid From The Dead is a book by a famous Canadian writer Douglas Coupland. It is a collection of selected short stories. The basic theme of the stories is that Douglas Coupland found inspiration for them with polaroids found in a drawer. It is an attempt taken to portray the years of the 90s which was basically going through the hangover of the 80s. The stories include information about the death of Kurt Cobain and burn outs of a grateful dead concert. There are references of Marilyn Monroe's death and the murder committed by O.J. Simpson.

Douglas Coupland is also a playwright and a visual artist. He has written screenplays for over six movies and documentaries. His books always focus on public issues such as globalization and consumerism.
