    A Cockatoo's habitat depends on what species of cockatoo you are talking of. Cockatoos are most commonly known to be inhabitants of rain forests but many prefer some what drier conditions and open grass lands.
    I looked up some of the species for you. The Moluccan Cockatoo's habitat is grasslands and forests of Indonesia.
    The Umbrella Cockatoo lives in dense forests and may be found across grasslands too.
    Palm Cockatoos live in tropical rain forest habitat. They are native to the Northern Australian Cape Peninsula, Aru islands, Papua New Guinea and some smaller islands around this area. Sulphur crested cockatoos are common in Australia through various habitats from Iron Range Mountains to Snowy Mountains.
    Another type of cockatoo is the Goffin cockatoo. This species is native to the Indonesian island Tenimber Island.
