Well, you have to keep in mind that as with any piercing, your rather soft tissues have received a pretty dramatic trauma. I mean you've effectively had a length of foreign material driven through a portion of your body that has never had such thing happen.
You have to give it time, preferably use some sort of sterile lubricant, and rotate/change position on the ring. You use the lube to allow the ring to spin, and to allow it to avoid sticking to the healing tissue, which can cause micro-tears, slowing the healing process.
Much like a pierced earlobe, you need to keep the area of the piercing clean (as much as possible), keep the ring lubed (lightly, don't go crazy) so it can move around in the new hole (and move it when you can to keep it from healing into the tissue, and causing the tearing mentioned above), and above all keep a very close eye on any dramatic swelling, discomfort or discharge, which can indicate an infection. (I'll assume I don't need to mention that this is NOT a place you want infection) heh.
If you treat it like any other sort of wound (which it is, just an intentional one), it should be fine, and after the tissues have had a chance to heal, the ring should loosen back up in no time (once the tissues can begin to stretch after the healing process had finished), and you'll be good to go. Just take it easy on the piercing for a bit...
I hope I've helped answer your question, and if so, please rate the answer appropriately. Thanks, and good luck!
