One year old Shitzu is on his 4th day of diarrhea. It smells really bad. Is still trying to play. Have gotten many suggestions and therapies but no change.
I would have this dog examined by a veterinarian in the next 12 hours. If he is vomiting, lethargic, or not eating he needs to be examined immediately. Diarrhea in dogs is commonly mild and self-limiting. Any diarrhea that has lasted more than 3 days needs veterinarian attention.

You should probably take him to the vets. You could try calling the vets and asking them what they would advise, but it may be something else causing the diarrhea so it is probably best to check it out.

I think this warrants an emergency visit to the vet.[don't rush him down in a panic] I mean ASAP get your dog to the vet. Dehydration does not take long to kill a dog. Several days of diarrhea is bound to cause some dehydration.

I also have a shitzu. Do not give them bones! Get yours to a vet ASAP! He is probably dehydrated from using the bathroom so much.
