My Landlord Wants Me Out And Harasses Me With Letters That She Invents To Try To Kick Me Out! Can You Help?

Why does my landlord have the right to harass me with letters that are not even true? I received a letter stating that other people are living with me, which is not true. I offered her to come in and inspect and she would not. Now I"m receiving complaints about my cats. This is a pet friendly apartment. According to the landlord, she has received numerous complaints about them. She also spys in my windows with flashlights to spy on me. I am harassed and have no privacy! Help!

Your landlord is adopting mean ways to get you out but in fact she doesn't have any complaint against you. She is searching for the reason to kick you out.

You have your privacy rights and you should file a case of slandering and privacy against your landlord otherwise you will be harassed by her as long as you will leave the apartment.

I am a low income person, also in the process of Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Where would I go to file a complaint. Where could I file my case and obtain legal help? I do not have extra money, and I live alone, and have no family support. Would I just go to the courthouse?

This is harassment and is punishable by law. It's important that you make a report to both the police and the Landlord and Tenant Board regarding invasion of privacy issues as well as harassment. Take a stand and let the law work on your side. This behaviour exceeds far beyond and realm of professionalism and must be stopped.
