A part time Masters Degree usually takes two years to complete. It can be done over a longer period but two years is the norm.
It depends on the subject and the institution and the regulations laid down for completion.
You may wish to study at evening classes and some colleges and universities do allow this, these courses can take longer than the two years.
If you take a part-time day course you will have to attend a spitulated number of lectures and undertake a dissertation of around 20-25,000 words. It's a good idea to have a topic in mind for your dissertation as you normally have to have decided on this at the end of your firdt year of study. Bear in mind that part-time study is not usually eligable for any grants and you will need to fund yourself and any expenses in your dissertation research, although sometimes very small amounts of financial help is available.

To get a Masters degree on a part time basis it may take about 2 years of your time but then it completely depends from person to person. Some people may take a longer time and some may take a shorter time, it all depends on one's IQ level, intelligence and interest and last but not the least on one's necessity.
