With metals--- when metals react with oxygen they produce thier oxides which are known as metallic oxides and are basic in nature.
With non-metals-----non-metals react and produce non-metallic oxides which are acidic in nature.
With non-metals-----non-metals react and produce non-metallic oxides which are acidic in nature.
