Kidderminster is a town in the district of Wyre Forest. It is located in the county of Worcestershire in the West Midlands region of England. It is located at a distance of approximately 28 miles to the southwest of the city centre of Birmingham. According to the population census of 2001, the estimated population of Kidderminster was about 55, 182. Locals fondly refer to their hometown as Kiddy. Kidderminster is the twin city of Husum, a town in Germany.
The town centre has undergone considerable changes and new developments over the year. The area of Weaver's Wharf is a popular commercial retail centre of the town. Its outlets attract many visitors and shoppers. Slingfield Mill is a building with a Grade II listing. It has now been converted into a retail outlet and is now a part of Weaver's Wharf. Robert Plant, the former frontman of the rock band Led Zeppelin, was formerly associated closely with the Kidderminster College of Further Education.
