How Is A Documentary Produced?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Before commencing the shooting of a documentary film, it is necessary to think of a subject that would be interesting for the cast, crew and unit of the film as well for its target audience. It is important to watch documentaries that have previously been made, particularly if the team working on the project is inexperienced. The next step is to make a choice between film and television documentaries. The steps involved in the process of preparation prior to making a documentary is time-consuming but worth all the effort.

While writing the script, the scriptwriter must keep in mind the basic fact that he is writing a realistic, non-fictional piece, and must accordingly write it is the narrative style. A person with a clear, well-modulated voice must be given a bound script with his lines, which he must memorise and use in the voice-over or commentary that accompanies the story of the documentary film.
