Is It Normal To Have Spotting Two Years After A Partial Hysterectomy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

No, I'm afraid it's not. Since the normal post operative bleeding is up to 8 months after the surgery. It takes 8 months at the most and can actually stop way sooner. In most cases it s due to the suture dissolving and depends on the quality of the suture used. However, bleeding that occurs years after a hysterectomy could be an indication of the prolapse of fallopian tubes, endometriosis of the vagina, the presence of a cancerous growth inside the vagina or atrophic vaginitis caused by low estrogen levels. If I were you I would consult a doctor immediately. Please do not delay. Hope it's nothing serious. Good luck!
