In Iceland the age of censent is 14 years old. Does that mean that the 14 year old can legally consent to having sexual intercourse with someone who is 25 years old??? Or can he still be charged with rape???

Age of consent is a legal definition. It usually applies to more than just sex, and it means the age that makes you legally responsible for your own actions. Age of consent also applies to making medical decisions, financial decisions, and decisions regarding pregnancies. This is why it applies to sex.

Ummm! There seems to be many misunderstanding about this question: For example, here in the UK the age of concent is said to be 16 and is generally applied to sexual activities between under 16's and over 18's. The age of medical privacy is 12, and 12 years olds can choose their own Doctor and agree their own hospital treatment. The age for voting in elections is 18, as is the 'age of majority' when people are full adults. Sex is common in the 13/14 age group, with partners of roughly the same age, and hospitals are well prepared for 14 year old mothers who's children are usually very healthy. Rape is when someone forces someone to have sex against their will. Every country has it's own laws and social customs. Difficult for young people now that international travel is part of their secondary education.
