I am having the same dilemma. I am from Pennsylvania originally and had a wonderful career. When my Mother passed away I moved to Florida to take care of my Father. Florida does not pay any decent wages. That is why I am now an Independent Agent. It is really hard to find a decent paying position here. My husband had the same trouble after being laid off down here. UEC tops out at $275.00 does not matter your wages.

I encountered a similar time when I decided to relocate years ago.

Perhaps you and your finance could discuss an option where the move would be a temporary arrangement for an agreed period of time, so that y' might financially be better off together and have a happier beginning. For even if you own a home or flat in your current town you may be able to rent it to tenants while you are away. Of course, only you could decide if this is feasible.

Over the years I have found that carefully thought out plans are best, so I might suggest you begin by taking down on paper the pro's and con's of a move. Y' might include such considerations as schools for the children (if you already have children), economic conditions of the town you are going to, any available employment, the possibility for increase in your wages, the cost of living in the new town, and whatever your social considerations.

I would see it quite important also to discuss and consider the reasons your dear fiance may not wish to move, and say it is best to address those together, maybe adding them to the pro and con list. Here is hopin y'have a blessed future together.

You would have to ask your fiance about that. Relocating is a joint venture. You don't mention anything about his career, does he work? Ask him how he feels about his career, some careers are local to particular states he may not want to move.

      Good luck to you dear.
