    Galina Sergeyevna Ulanova was a Russian ballet dancer who was credited the first 'Prima ballerina assoluta' of Soviet Union or Soviet Russia. She was born on 8th January of 1910 at St. Petersburg in Russia. She was a trainer and trained with Agrippina Vaganova in Leningrad. Ulanova joined the Mariinsky Theater which had been renamed the Kirov Theater Company in the year of 1928.

    Ulanova used to dance in the leading roles while she was working for the Kirov Theater Company. There she urbanized or developed the lyrical style as well as dramatic style. Her style and sensitivity of dancing helped earn her worldwide acclaim. She changed her location to the Bolshoi Ballet in the year of 1944. Ulanova won plaudits all over Europe and the United States in the 1950s, while she toured with the company. In the year of 1962, Ulanova took retirement as a dancer. But she continued as the ballet mistress for her last theater company.

    Ulanova,the greatest Russian ballet dancer of all time was died on 21st March of 1998 in Moscow, Russia.
