    Is It Legal To Have To Pay Back Child Support On My Daughter When For 7 Years? I Didn't Know She Was Mine And The Mother's Husband Acknowledged Paternity And Is Listed On Her Birth Certificate.

    I was made to pay back child support by the state Oklahoma Department of Human Services after a DNA test determined I was the father of a 7 years Old child, even though her mother's husband had acknowledged paternity by signing a notarized affidavit. Is this legal?

    It's a hard life, but that fact is you are the father and therefore liable. If the state owed you some money but you didn't know about it and then they got in contact with you 7 years later, I am sure you wouldn't say 'don't worry keep it i didn't know about it anyway'.
