When Was Martin Luther King Born?

Martin Luther King, one of the most famous leaders in the modern history of America, was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

He is considered as the most influential leaders in the American Civil Rights Movement and it was he who is considered as the instrumental figure in providing equal rights to the blacks in the United States of America.

His fame encompassed all the geographical boundaries and at the age of thirty-five he became the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was also awarded the presidential Medal of Freedom by President Jimmy Carter in the year 1977, though posthumously.

Martin Luther King was assassinated in the year 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee where he went in support of the garbage workers who were treated unfairly. He was killed in the balcony of his Motel and later the person who shot him was arrested in London and he accepted his crime. But some people speculated that he was used as a scapegoat and the real culprits were left scot-free.
