Can A Sitting Elected President Be Removed From Office (impeached) By The Board Of Directors If The President Has Been Found (by Investigation) Of Slander (of A Local Business) And Lying To The Board Of Directors?

Our president made an arse of herself with a local business. She then lied to the Board about it, in an effort to cover it up. The board convened an investigative committee, and discovered the lies. Part and parcel of the lie is slander against the business. The by-laws are murky as to the decorum expected by officers. Robert's rules of order are to be followed in the absence of clear direction from the by-laws. Our question is: Is the board right to ask the president to step down, can the president be impeached?

Definitely the president can be Impeached, simply for the fact that he/she was elected by the BOD and they are the ones having the overall authority. If the activities of the President are damaging for the business in any way, the BOD has all the rights to either impeach the president for forcefully terminate him/her.
