How Long Should A Person Have To Wait To Get Power Restored?

I am sitting in the dark and cold waiting for power to be restored (I know, seems strange that I am able to get online but thank goodness for USB modems and laptops). It went out about 830 this morning and the power company will not even give me an estimate on when they will be here. How long do you think it should take and how long do you think it will take?

It really depends on the reason why you lost your power. How large an area does the outage cover? How complex is the problem. All of these things have to be taken under consideration. I hope you get your power back shortly.

I am still without power and it appears that my house is the only one effected in may neighborhood but the problem is very wide spread. Ice on trees and powerlines. I had a branch fall on the line leading to the house and pulled it just enough to break the neutral wire. This would probably be one of the easier ones for them to fix but my guess is that since it is just one and they have things to fix that will restore many (tranformers and main lines down) that I am on low priority. Oh well.
