If You Have A Nickname, How Did You Get It?

Answer Question

Often you get nicknames quite young, either an abbreviation or a simple description.  Sometimes you give it to yourself.  I had a friend who changed her name from Sarah, to Britt because someone thought she looked more like a Britt and they were close.  My sisters friend, betty ann, her mom nicknamed her stinky, but as she got older and her husband thought this was a silly name she got to be known as Betty.  My cousin Berth, an old french name found her name sounded too much like a mans pronounced in English to she changed her name to betty.  As for me,  a little boy I used to babysit and adore called me Zanne cause he couldn't pronounce Suzanne,  i eventually opened a store in Magog Called Chez Zanne, had a nice ring to it

I received my nickname from my brother and it is used within the family.  Most of the grandchildren call me by my nickname.
