How Can I Retrieve Overdraft Fees From My Landlord Who Recashed A Bounced Rent Check Without My Knowledge, Causing Multiple Overdrafts To My Checking Account

My rent check bounced and i recieved written notification of the bounced ckeck on the same day that the landlord re-ran my original rent check. My bank paid the amount of the check but that caused all my previouse transactions from the weekend to bounce as well. My bank pays the larger sums first, but i had the funds to cover the smaller transactions if not for the rent check. Had i been given sufficient time to access my account before the checkreran there would be no issue. Do i have a chance to get my overdrafts back.

Sorry, you are on the hook for all of the fees as you are the only person who did anything wrong here. The big problem is that it is illegal to write a check without sufficient funds to cover it - having broke the law you really don't have any recourse.

I would suggest that you have your bank use one of your credit cards to cover checks when you have an overdraft. You may pay a little interest but it will be nothing like what you paid for this.
