What Is Islam? Is Saying Prayers 5 Times Enough For Worshipping Allah? Or Believing In The Preaching Of Muhammad (PBHU)?

Looking at the second part of your question which I presume has not been answered. In Islam praying 5 times a day is a must and therefore no excuse can be accepted from the ones failing to do so.

However is it enough in worshiping Allah? For this, we will need to understand the fact that god has no interest what so ever in human being worshiping him. The prayers tend to be important for the humans them selves. It should be their own interest to pray as they will be the ones to answer to Almighty Allah.

Then comes the question so how much is enough? This depends on your own; this depends on what your heart says. There is no limit as such for prayers. You can pray for the entire day. However, here I take the assumption that by enough, you mean enough for going to heaven. If that is the case then we need to understand the fact that no one except the Almighty Allah decides who goes to the heaven and who does not. Our duty is to give our selves with the best possible chance. In order to do that, we should pray 5 times up most respect, cleanliness, interest, patience and hope for forgiveness from the Almighty.
    And Allah Knows best!

Islam in its literal meaning means Peace. It means total submission to Allah Almighty.

A person who follows the religion of Islam is called a Muslim.

In order to be a Muslim you must have total faith in Allah, and believe in his Angels, his books (the Quran, the Bible, the Torah, and other scriptures), and also believe in all of the messengers that Allah sent, with Mohammad (PBUH) being the last Messenger.

There are five basic pillars on which the religion of Islam is based. Adherences to these are mandatory on all Muslims. These five pillars are:

      1) The Testimony of Faith (Shahadah) - Shahadah means to testify or bear witness. It means to bear witness that there is only One God, and that Mohammad (PBUH) is his Messenger.

      2) Prayer (Salat) - Prayers are performed five times a day. These prayers are mandatory on all mature Muslims.

In order to offer pray a Muslim must:
      1) Cleansing of the body before offering prayers.
      2) Wear appropriate clothing
      3) Face the Qibla
      4) Make intention to pray

      The five pray times are:
      1. Before sunrise.
      2. After the sun begins to decline from its zenith.
      3. Mid-afternoon.
      4. Just after sunset.
      5. Night.

Other obligatory prayers include the Friday congregational prayer, Eid prayers and the funeral prayer.

      3) Alms Giving (Zakat) - Zakat means to give to the poor and needy from the money a Muslim saves after his/her personal finances have been fulfilled. This is a way a Muslim can purify his wealth and heart. It also purifies the heart of the recipient from envy and jealousy, and society from corruption.

      4) Fasting - Fasting means to abstain from eating, drinking, sexual intercourse, backbiting, etc for a certain period of a day (from sun rise to sunset), and to spend this time in remembrance of Allah Almighty. This is done during the month of Ramadan.

      5) Hajj - Hajj means pilgrimage to Ka'bah (the House of Allah). This is obligatory to all Muslims at least once in a lifetime.

Other than these five pillars Islam guides us in all walks of life. A Muslim should get as much information about Islam by reading the Quran and Hadith (Sayings of the Prophet (PBUH)) and try to follow them as best as possible. And have faith in Allah in good times and bad times(bear hard times with patience).

It is true that Allah is one and no one can replace Him. When a person says that; none but Allah is worthy of worship and Muhammad is His messenger, he entered into a religion called Islam.

Being a Muslim we believe that God is one, He is absolutely free from needs. In Quran it is stated that "verily Allah is absolutely free of need of any thing in the WORLD". The Scientific factors which you came to know now, Allah has told each and every thing in Quran, He proved that he is there. In another Surah in Quran Allah says

"And whatever of blessings and good things you have, it is from Allah. Then, when harm touches you, unto him cry aloud for help. Yet no sooner does he remove your ills then some of you set up partners to their lord".

A true Muslim is not just believing in Allah and his Prophet (PBUH) and say prayer five time a day, these are compulsory things but you have to follow the way which ALLAH and his Prophet (PBUH) shows. Islam is the religion in which everyone has the rights.

Islam is Arabic word which means submission, with believe that GOD is one and there is no one except Him to whom we pray and the best source to know about Islam is Quran. The Quran is based on principles of love, kindness, forgiveness, humility, self-sacrifice and tolerance.
