Least Common Multiple is basically the smallest possible whole number which is divisible by every number in a set of numbers.
It is very simple to find the LCM of two or more numbers. Here is the solved example of the above two numbers.
L.C.M of 12 and 16.
List the multiples.
12 = 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 ....
16 = 16, 32, 48, 64...
Thus the smallest common multiple of 12 and 16 is 48.

It uses a lot of paper and ink if the LCM is very large. Try finding the LCM of 119 and 120 this way, and you find you need to write down more than 100 numbers for each.
