Legally, yes he can evict you. Your years there may not have any affect on your landlord.  Sometimes Landlords are still paying on the rented property. However there are many agencies you can contact for assistance and may get your rent caught up for you if you can show that you will be able to handle the rent there after. Some agencies will provide, or locate places for you. If you are disabled your claims may go to the top of the list. They even have a program where you pay according to your income. It is sometimes free or nearly free. I suppose your landlord spoke with you after the first missed month of rent, but you never mentioned what you two have discussed. It may be possible for your landlord to list his place in the program that pays rent for low income families. Best wishes

Depending on what state you are in will tell you.  in California it could take at least 60days to evict. Going through the courts.  if sec 8 90 days.  if you say give $10 and he takes it the process starts all over again. In this state oust landlord do not care of people's problems.  i suggest get a landlord tenant attorney some daoe slide scale pay to help you out.  hope this helps and let me know ok

He can give you notice to quit which is 28 days however if you have nowhere to go and stay he would then have to apply through the courts to evict you which could take months but try not to let it get to this point visit your nearest citizens advice centre now or your social security office
