What Is A Finger Prick?

A finger prick is nothing but a prick in the finger. Usually a finger prick is done when one has to conduct a blood test. This procedure maybe a little painful, but is faster and less upsetting than vein puncture. After your finger is pricked the droplets of blood are taken into a thin glass tube. Such tests are conduced only when blood less than 500 μg is required.

Such kind of test is usually done for glucose levels - diabetics, haemoglobin levels, etc.
