A wedding is an opportunity for families and friends to come together and celebrate the union of two people they love dearly. It is also a great time to collect money and gifts to start the new couple off on their new life. If you were invited to the wedding shower, chances are you gave a gift then. While perfect etiquette demands that you should also bring a gift to the wedding, most people would not obligate you to do so. However, you may be the only one who doesn't and some people will, at the very least, notice the absence of one. A wedding fit, especially if you gave one at the shower, does not need to be expensive. Showing that you put thought into what you gave will mean more that the present itself. Even a simple frame snapshot of the couple in a lovely frame would suffice. Be creative and give something that proves the old adage that says, "it's the thought that counts."

Alicia got it right. I went to my cousin's wedding and took a picture of them at the alter on my digital camera. We had gotten a silver frame from Dillard's and had it engraved with both names and the wedding date.( I had it engraved easily, and really reasonably while I waited at a trophy shop). Anyway, I stepped out, had the picture developed at the corner walgreens, in the frame, and on the table before they even got to the presents!!!! It was such a kick to have her ask "how the heck"..... It got applause. They LOVED it!!!!
